What happened

On 18 June 2026, Rockstar published "Grand Theft Auto VI: Official Cover Art Reveal" on its official channel, showing the game's final cover art. Watch the official video.

As of this article's publication, it is the most recent official video Rockstar has released about GTA VI — more recent even than Trailer 2, from May 2025.

Why cover art is news

It sounds like a small detail, and on its own it is. What matters is the calendar. Cover art is one of the last marketing assets locked before a release: it has to be ready for physical box printing, for digital storefront listings, and for advertising. Revealing it publicly usually means the final build is settled enough that Rockstar isn't expecting any more changes of direction.

With release set for 19 November 2026 and the physical edition in shops from 12 November, a June cover reveal falls exactly where you'd expect it.

What still hasn't arrived

A third trailer. As of the end of July 2026, Trailer 2 remains the game's most recent trailer — a long stretch of silence for a game a few months from launch. If Rockstar follows the pattern of its previous releases, the next big video should focus on gameplay and mechanics rather than story.

Be careful what circulates

Every time Rockstar publishes anything, "alternate covers", "leaked art" and supposed behind-the-scenes images turn up. The rule stays the same: if it isn't on Rockstar's official channel or on rockstargames.com, treat it as unconfirmed.

We'll keep this coverage updated as Rockstar releases more material ahead of launch.
