This policy explains what blucast.net and its subdomains collect when you read them. BluCast is operated by Costa & Associates LLC.
1. We do not have reader accounts
There is nothing to sign up for. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or payment details, because we never ask for them.
2. What is collected automatically
Like any website, our servers and our content delivery network record standard request data: IP address, user agent, referring page, the URL requested, and a timestamp. This is used to serve pages, to keep the site available, and to understand roughly how many people read what. Server logs are rotated and are not used to build a profile of you.
3. Cookies
We set one cookie on the public site: blucast_lang, which remembers
the language you chose so we do not keep redirecting you. It is not used for
tracking or advertising. Administrative pages set a session cookie, but those pages
are for our staff and are not part of the reader experience.
4. Approximate location
When you first arrive we may look at the country our content delivery network reports for your connection, together with your browser's language preference, to pick between Portuguese, English and Spanish. We do not store this, and we do not attempt to determine your precise location.
5. Third parties
Pages may embed content from third-party platforms such as YouTube, X, Instagram and TikTok. When such content loads, that platform receives your request and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Our fonts are served by Google Fonts.
6. Content delivery network
The BluCast properties are served through a CDN, which caches pages at edge locations closer to you. The CDN processes request data on our behalf in order to deliver those pages.
7. Children
The BluCast properties are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Your rights
Because we do not hold reader accounts, we generally hold no personal data that identifies you. If you believe we hold information about you and want it removed, write to contact@blucast.net and we will respond.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The version on this page is the version in force.
