Rockstar Games has opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI and laid out everything players need to know ahead of its November 19, 2026 launch. This guide gathers only what Rockstar itself has confirmed — no speculation about missions, the map, or unannounced features.

Platforms and date

GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time.

Where to pre-order

You can pre-order from the official digital storefronts and from select retailers:

Editions: Standard and Ultimate

There are two editions:

  • Standard Edition — includes the game.
  • Ultimate Edition — includes the game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, an exclusive collection of vehicles and items. Rockstar says the Ultimate bonuses are threaded across all of Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter.

Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately at any time, as a digital add-on through the PlayStation or Microsoft stores.

The Ultimate Edition Upgrade includes items such as the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City Styles, Jason's Safehouse Vehicles, the Ganado Retro Build, the Rideout Customs Mod Shop, the Shitzu Squalo, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, and the Classic Car Collection, among others.

Pre-order bonus: the Vintage Vice City Pack

Digital pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack:

  • '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage
  • Outfits and hairstyles
  • An exclusive weapon pattern
  • One month of GTA+ membership

Physical pre-orders get the same pack, minus the month of GTA+.

Physical vs. digital

GTA VI comes in digital and physical versions. The physical version has no disc: the box holds a download code for the game. Physical copies become available starting November 12 to support pre-loading.

Pre-loading

Pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Digital pre-orders can start downloading early from that date; physical codes redeemed before launch also begin pre-loading on November 12.

Region restrictions

Code-redemption restrictions follow the region tied to your platform account. If you buy in a region different from your account, the version must match your account's region — worth checking before you pre-order from another country's store.
