What is confirmed
GTA VI was announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, releasing 19 November 2026. That's it. That is the complete list of confirmed platforms.
There is no announced PC version. There is no announced PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version. There is no window, no "coming soon", no wishlist page on Steam or Epic. Anything you see claiming otherwise did not come from Rockstar.
What Rockstar hasn't said
It also hasn't said there won't be a PC version. Silence isn't denial — it's just silence. Historically, Rockstar doesn't announce the PC version alongside the console one.
What the track record suggests
Rockstar's two most recent releases followed the same pattern: console first, PC later, with no simultaneous announcement.
| Game | Console | PC | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V | Sep 2013 | Apr 2015 | ~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Oct 2018 | Nov 2019 | ~13 months |
If GTA VI follows the same path, a PC version somewhere in 2027 or 2028 would be consistent with the pattern. That is an inference from history, not information from Rockstar — and the pattern may well not repeat.
What to do with this in practice
If you only play on PC: don't pre-order anything, don't buy an "early PC key", and don't trust countdowns on sites that aren't Rockstar. There is no product to buy. Wait for the official announcement.
If you have both a console and a PC: the real choice is between playing in November 2026 on console or waiting an indefinite stretch for a version that hasn't been confirmed.
If you're thinking of buying a console for this: what you need is a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. The physical edition, in shops from 12 November, contains a download code only — there is no disc with the game on it. If you were counting on the disc to install without internet, that plan doesn't work.
How to spot a "PC version" scam
They're nearly all the same:
- Selling a "pre-order key" for a platform with no announced release.
- Asking for payment in crypto, instant bank transfer or gift cards.
- Showing a countdown with artificial urgency.
- Using trailer screenshots with a storefront watermark laid over them.
- Promising "early access", which doesn't exist for this game.
None of this is ambiguous: there is no way to buy GTA VI for PC today, from anyone, at any price.
